EMBA International Stream
EMBA Programme

Tianguang LIU

EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class A
CEO of Shenzhen Blossom Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

I have been in Shenzhen for 27 years. I think Shenzhen is China’s Shenzhen, while Hong Kong is global Hong Kong. Coming to Hong Kong allows me to learn from professors and discuss next steps for globalisation with classmates. With intensifying domestic competition, we want to bring China’s manufacturing capabilities abroad to participate in global competition.

HKU professors have strong academic competences and international perspectives. I want to close my own gaps, for example in AI, by learning about frontier technologies and applications. My classmates are outstanding, from many industries, and many already live and work overseas. In terms of going global, I’m at the “kindergarten” stage. I expect to learn a lot from classmates and accelerate our globalisation efforts.

EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class A
Chairman of the Board of Hong Kong Gold Industry Group Limited

The main reason I chose HKU EMBA International Stream is to study cutting-edge knowledge with top professors at a leading university, expand my capabilities, and exchange experiences with classmates from diverse industries. I believe there will be substantial gains both inside and outside the classroom. The courses offered during the first two days of the inauguration were excellent. I was particularly impressed by the discussion on the Greater Bay Area, as I believe it represents a significant development opportunity for Hong Kong and provides valuable insights into industry positioning and future investment directions. Going forward, I hope to gain more professional perspectives on mergers and acquisitions, and I am eagerly anticipating the overseas modules.

Hong Kong is diverse, open, and international. Taiwan is relatively conservative; large foreign companies and banks less often establish branches there. In Hong Kong, I can access more overseas resources and international perspectives to make up for shortcomings from Taiwan. HKU itself is an international campus where I can meet people from many regions and broaden our global outlook. Hong Kong has advantages over Taiwan in wealth succession. I want to take the wealth succession course, and it happens to be scheduled as the first class in April, so I can attend it right away.
The first course introduced the legal system, which is a very good arrangement. Because law is what companies or individuals must pay the closest attention to when handling any transaction or arrangement. The overall inauguration schedule is compact and includes activities we seldom encounter, such as a fencing session, which deepens classmate interaction and foster a deep sense of team solidarity.

Fan XIA

EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class B
Senior Vice President of Kunlun Tech Co., Ltd.

I chose HKU EMBA International Stream for two reasons. First, I have been operating abroad for over ten years and developed a methodology, I want to systematise that methodology through study at HKU. Second, the classmates are excellent, I want to interact with high achievers to improve myself.

The inauguration arrangements exceeded my expectations. What impressed me most was Professor Zhiwu Chen’s lecture, in which he described the current global order as entering a new “Spring and Autumn and Warring States” period. In that historical era, the advent of iron weapons helped unify a previously fragmented and war-torn world. Today, the emergence of large-scale AI models represents a new transformative capability that is reshaping productivity. In the face of this transformation, how should individuals and companies respond? This is an exceptionally thought-provoking and timely topic.

Jinsheng YANG

EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class A
Chairperson of Xingan Greatchip Industry Co., Ltd.

Choosing to pursue the EMBA at HKU is the right decision! Many in our class are well-known entrepreneurs and CEOs from large enterprises. They are energetic, ambitious, and intellectually curious. Choosing HKU is a carefully considered decision. HKU is a century-old institution with excellent students and I want to learn from the best; I am particularly eager to hear HKU professors’ views to obtain a theoretically systematic plan for our overseas strategy and verify whether our business direction is feasible.

When applying, I chose HKU EMBA International Stream without hesitation because the curriculum focuses on outbound enterprises, overseas trade, and the future of international trade. These are precisely the areas I urgently need to understand – especially regional and national development trends and uncontrollable risk points in future international trade. I also hope to meet classmates with successful cases and learn how they did it. This kind of practical, real-world experience is exactly what I am most eager to gain.

Rumin YU

EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class B
Chairperson and Executive Director of Nanfang Communication Holdings Limited

I have been looking for a breakthrough. After many years of work, from front-line roles to management to decision-making, I feel my skills lack systematic structure. I hope to study cross-border management, global strategic decision-making, and international capital at HKU to reorganise myself: what am I missing? With clearer strategic goals and stronger decision support, my “going out” will be more purposeful. I have come to appreciate Hong Kong more and more. To me, it is a place centered on people—shaped by people themselves. People are very important, and human emotional needs are about being respected and being seen—this greatly enhances people’s sense of happiness. I also like Hong Kong’s academic atmosphere, everyone speaks freely; You must voice your ideas to understand what you truly need.

CEO of Hunan Wanjiali Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

I’m eager to learn systematic business logic and understand market rules and opportunities to tackle higher-level challenges. I look forward to exchanging ideas with cross-field classmates in finance, technology and manufacturing to break local thinking limitations.

As a post-80s generation, I bridge generations—I learn from predecessors and understand younger needs. This perspective helps my company stay grounded while keeping up with market changes during transformation. Years of experience have taught me: Real growth arises from challenges, not comfort zones.

EMBA Programme 2025 Intake Class C
Department General Manager of Ant Group

As a finance professional, Hong Kong’s exploration of emerging areas like stablecoins, as an international financial centre, has helped me see what matters in the new era. Through the two-year study of the HKU EMBA programme, I hope to learn industry trends and master AI-era management methods.

All current strategies focus on AI. Future business models may change drastically, and old internet operation ideas will be iterated. We need new paths—that’s why I’m returning to campus.

Weishan LU

EMBA Programme 2025 Intake Class C
Chairman and General Manager of Dongguan Cigna Nonwovens Technology Co., Ltd.

As my enterprise has grown, I increasingly recognize the importance of systematic management and strategic thinking. While I have rich practical experience, I’ve hit cognitive bottlenecks. As a self-made entrepreneur, my “guerrilla-style” approach worked before, but it no longer fits a larger business.

HKU EMBA programme’s systematic training—especially its international platform and cross-border ecosystem—is exactly what I need. It offers top academic resources and in-depth exchanges with entrepreneurs from diverse industries and cultures, which is crucial to breaking manufacturing mindsets and understanding global markets.

So Kuen FUNG

EMBA Programme 2025 Intake Class D
General Manager and Executive Director of Hoi Hing Building Materials Co., Limited

After years in business, I’ve keenly felt technology’s rapid development—especially the wave of digitalization and innovative thinking. The construction industry I work in faces an intense clash between tradition and the new era; generational differences in concepts and technologies have become pain points in its transformation. To achieve a win-win, we must combine traditional experience with new technologies to advance the industry.

What attracts me most to HKU EMBA programme is its international perspective, renowned faculty, and diverse student body. I believe I cannot only learn cutting-edge management concepts here but also spark ideas with cross-field classmates, helping my company breakthrough in digital transformation.

Song ZHUANG

EMBA Programme 2025 Intake Class A
Managing Director of Wealth Management Department of CMBC Securities Company Limited

I once read: “The more you know, the more you realize how much you don’t know.” As my experience grows, I know I need more knowledge. A key challenge: how to use technology to serve customers while maintaining human-centric service experiences.

More tech elites are pursuing HKU EMBA programme, which integrates resources from HKU and Peking University and has top-tier faculty. I want to discuss with these elites how to examine tech-human interaction from a higher level and find balance between the two.
