EMBA International Stream 2025 Intake Class A
CEO of Shenzhen Blossom Electronic Technology Co., Ltd.

I have been in Shenzhen for 27 years. I think Shenzhen is China’s Shenzhen, while Hong Kong is global Hong Kong. Coming to Hong Kong allows me to learn from professors and discuss next steps for globalisation with classmates. With intensifying domestic competition, we want to bring China’s manufacturing capabilities abroad to participate in global competition.

HKU professors have strong academic competences and international perspectives. I want to close my own gaps, for example in AI, by learning about frontier technologies and applications. My classmates are outstanding, from many industries, and many already live and work overseas. In terms of going global, I’m at the “kindergarten” stage. I expect to learn a lot from classmates and accelerate our globalisation efforts.

The main reason I chose HKU EMBA International Stream is to study cutting-edge knowledge with top professors at a leading university, expand my capabilities, and exchange experiences with classmates from diverse industries. I believe there will be substantial gains both inside and outside the classroom. The courses offered during the first two days of the inauguration were excellent. I was particularly impressed by the discussion on the Greater Bay Area, as I believe it represents a significant development opportunity for Hong Kong and provides valuable insights into industry positioning and future investment directions. Going forward, I hope to gain more professional perspectives on mergers and acquisitions, and I am eagerly anticipating the overseas modules.

Hong Kong is diverse, open, and international. Taiwan is relatively conservative; large foreign companies and banks less often establish branches there. In Hong Kong, I can access more overseas resources and international perspectives to make up for shortcomings from Taiwan. HKU itself is an international campus where I can meet people from many regions and broaden our global outlook. Hong Kong has advantages over Taiwan in wealth succession. I want to take the wealth succession course, and it happens to be scheduled as the first class in April, so I can attend it right away.
The first course introduced the legal system, which is a very good arrangement. Because law is what companies or individuals must pay the closest attention to when handling any transaction or arrangement. The overall inauguration schedule is compact and includes activities we seldom encounter, such as a fencing session, which deepens classmate interaction and foster a deep sense of team solidarity.

I chose HKU EMBA International Stream for two reasons. First, I have been operating abroad for over ten years and developed a methodology, I want to systematise that methodology through study at HKU. Second, the classmates are excellent, I want to interact with high achievers to improve myself.

The inauguration arrangements exceeded my expectations. What impressed me most was Professor Zhiwu Chen’s lecture, in which he described the current global order as entering a new “Spring and Autumn and Warring States” period. In that historical era, the advent of iron weapons helped unify a previously fragmented and war-torn world. Today, the emergence of large-scale AI models represents a new transformative capability that is reshaping productivity. In the face of this transformation, how should individuals and companies respond? This is an exceptionally thought-provoking and timely topic.

Choosing to pursue the EMBA at HKU is the right decision! Many in our class are well-known entrepreneurs and CEOs from large enterprises. They are energetic, ambitious, and intellectually curious. Choosing HKU is a carefully considered decision. HKU is a century-old institution with excellent students and I want to learn from the best; I am particularly eager to hear HKU professors’ views to obtain a theoretically systematic plan for our overseas strategy and verify whether our business direction is feasible.

When applying, I chose HKU EMBA International Stream without hesitation because the curriculum focuses on outbound enterprises, overseas trade, and the future of international trade. These are precisely the areas I urgently need to understand – especially regional and national development trends and uncontrollable risk points in future international trade. I also hope to meet classmates with successful cases and learn how they did it. This kind of practical, real-world experience is exactly what I am most eager to gain.

I have been looking for a breakthrough. After many years of work, from front-line roles to management to decision-making, I feel my skills lack systematic structure. I hope to study cross-border management, global strategic decision-making, and international capital at HKU to reorganise myself: what am I missing? With clearer strategic goals and stronger decision support, my “going out” will be more purposeful. I have come to appreciate Hong Kong more and more. To me, it is a place centered on people—shaped by people themselves. People are very important, and human emotional needs are about being respected and being seen—this greatly enhances people’s sense of happiness. I also like Hong Kong’s academic atmosphere, everyone speaks freely; You must voice your ideas to understand what you truly need.

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class B
CEO & President of PhilMed Dynasty Corporation

As a third-generation Chinese raised in the Philippines, I work in the healthcare sector, providing advanced medical equipment to hospitals. Working across both technology providers and healthcare institutions, I am uniquely positioned to explore how China’s rapidly advancing innovations can be translated into practical solutions for global markets. This experience has strengthened my conviction that bridging innovation across borders is both a challenge and an opportunity.

What draws me to HKU is its global perspective. I hope to deepen my understanding of China’s business logic while maintaining an international outlook. An EMBA will not eliminate every challenge, but it will transform how I think, evaluate opportunities, and make decisions for the future.

Ruiqi SUN

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class A
Renowned Financial TV Host

I was among the first TV hosts to become a producer, and one of the first in my profession to pursue an EMBA more than a decade ago. I have always believed that success starts with choosing the right track and staying just a step ahead, because that opens the door to greater opportunities and broader perspectives.

Every decade, I set a new challenge for myself. To make better decisions, I believe we need not only knowledge, but also exposure to diverse viewpoints and the wisdom of exceptional people. Through the HKU EMBA, I hope to expand my horizons, strengthen my judgment, and navigate an increasingly complex world with greater confidence. It is also an opportunity to better understand Hong Kong, a city that bridges China and the world, and an important part of my family’s future.

Wei WANG

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class C
General Manager of Beijing Weiye Zecheng Cloud Computing Co., Ltd.

Coming from an information technology background, I was expected to be an early participant in the AI revolution. Yet the speed of its advancement has surpassed almost everyone’s expectations. My ambition is not simply to benefit from AI, but to make a meaningful contribution to its development and application. What matters most is being able to look back years from now and know I was part of shaping this era.

HKU EMBA brings together outstanding leaders from diverse backgrounds. I look forward to learning from peers who can broaden my perspective, challenge my thinking, and help me grow. If I am to learn, I want to do so on a platform that connects ideas, talent, and opportunities across the world.

Chia-ying WU

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class B
Chairperson of Fabulous Group (Xiamen) Co. Ltd.

Since arriving in Mainland China in 1995, I have built and transformed businesses across multiple industries, from international trade to intelligent manufacturing and technology. Having witnessed decades of economic change, I believe the greatest challenge facing today’s enterprises is not growth, but transformation.

I have always believed in lifelong learning, completing seven postgraduate degrees along the way. Through the HKU EMBA, I hope to gain new perspectives on the future of business, particularly at the intersection of AI and finance. As a global financial hub, Hong Kong offers a unique vantage point on the trends shaping tomorrow’s leaders. I look forward to learning from outstanding peers and expanding my impact in the age of AI.

Xiaoqiao XUE

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class A
Director, Vice President and Board Secretary of Cofoe Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (301087.SZ; 01187.HK)

Over the past eight years, I have participated in private equity financing, an A-share IPO, a Hong Kong IPO, and more than ten M&A transactions. I often ask myself: what new value can I create in the next stage of my career?

As companies go global, Hong Kong is the gateway. Through the HKU EMBA, I hope to develop the strategic vision needed for cross-border growth, international capital markets, and global M&A. Just as important, I look forward to learning alongside ambitious and accomplished classmates. Sometimes, the greatest value of learning is stepping back, thinking deeper, and preparing for what comes next.

Xiaofei YU

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class C
COO of Fujian Septwolves Industry Co., Ltd.

For over 20 years, I worked in frontline operations and management in the apparel retail industry. In recent years, however, my role has evolved from managing daily operations to shaping the brand’s long-term growth and strategic direction. As the retail sector faces headwinds and traditional fashion brands struggle to connect with younger consumers, I often find myself searching for the right path forward.

Through the HKU EMBA, I hope to build a solid foundation in strategy, management, finance, and leadership, moving beyond experience-based decision-making to a more systematic approach. Leveraging HKU’s global perspective and real-world case studies, I aim to discover how brands can adapt, evolve, and thrive across business cycles.

Haijuan ZHU

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class D
VP&CSO of Kowin Technology Co., Ltd.

After 23 years in the memory semiconductor industry, I have seen how competition has evolved. Today, success is no longer defined by product quality alone. Companies must articulate their value, build trust, and demonstrate long-term competitiveness, especially in global markets where customers prioritize sustainability and lasting partnerships.

Learning is an act of self-investment and self-renewal. It allows us to slow down, reflect, and continuously become better versions of ourselves, while also helping our teams grow alongside us. Through the HKU EMBA, I aim to strengthen my understanding of globalization, capital markets, and business leadership. Just as importantly, I hope to learn from exceptional classmates and faculty, expand my perspective beyond my industry, and develop into a more well-rounded global leader.

Zhaoyuan ZHU

EMBA Programme 2026 Intake Class D
CEO of NETINT Technologies Inc.

Our business is evenly split between China and overseas markets, and one of our greatest challenges is growing globally while navigating diverse regulatory and compliance environments. As our company grows from a few hundred employees to more than a thousand, the challenges we face evolve as well. We aspire to transition from a private company to a public one, making leadership, governance, and organizational excellence more important than ever.

Through the HKU EMBA, I hope to gain new perspectives on globalization and corporate governance, while building lifelong relationships with outstanding classmates and professors. Most importantly, I want to continue growing so that I never become the bottleneck to my company’s future.
